in the 10th International Symposium of Music Pedagogues
Dear Colleagues,
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Teacher Education invites you to the 10th International Symposium of Music Pedagogues, to be held in Zagreb from 6 to 8 May 2027. 10. međunarodni simpozij glazbenih pedagoga, koji će se održati od 6. do 8. svibnja 2027. godine u Zagrebu.
The symposium theme, A Transdisciplinary Approach to Music Learning: Integrating Science, Art and Educational Technology, encourages reflection on contemporary music education in the context of the interweaving of scientific, artistic, pedagogical, technological and cultural perspectives. Today, music education is increasingly shaped at the intersection of various disciplines: music pedagogy, musicology, music psychology, neuroscience, the performing arts, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, cultural heritage and educational sciences. A Transdisciplinary Approach to Music Learning: Integrating Science, Art and Educational Technologyusmjerena je na promišljanje suvremenoga glazbenog obrazovanja u kontekstu međusobnog prožimanja znanstvenih, umjetničkih, pedagoških, tehnoloških i kulturnih perspektiva. Glazbeno obrazovanje danas sve se snažnije oblikuje na sjecištu različitih disciplina: glazbene pedagogije, muzikologije, psihologije glazbe, neuroznanosti, izvedbenih umjetnosti, digitalnih tehnologija, umjetne inteligencije, kulturne baštine i obrazovnih znanosti.
The symposium aims to foster multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary dialogue among researchers, music pedagogues, artists, primary and secondary school teachers, early childhood educators, professionals from various fields and practitioners whose work contributes to developing new perspectives on learning, teaching, creating, performing and understanding music.
Particular attention will be given to the relationship between music and science, creativity and artistic expression, innovative forms of teaching, digital tools and educational technology, the development of musical identity, cultural heritage, ethnomusicological approaches, and the role of music in the personal, social and cultural development of individuals and communities.
We invite you to contribute to the discussion on the future of music education as a dynamic and integrated field through scientific, professional and artistic contributions, research, examples of good practice, workshops, panels, posters or performance-based reflective presentations.
