Call for Participation
Dear students,
We invite you to the 13th International Forum of Music Pedagogy Students, which will bring together music pedagogy students from Croatia and other countries, with the aim of socialising, connecting, exchanging experiences, and understand different musical cultures.
This year's Forum theme, United in Diversity, is dedicated to musical diversity and the richness of different cultures. Every country has its own musical traditions, customs, songs, dances, and instruments that form an important part of its cultural identity. Through music, we can understand other cultures while also discovering what connects us to one another. Special emphasis is placed on presenting the musical and cultural heritage of different countries and on the question of how such content can be brought closer to students and incorporated into music education.
We invite students to present the music of their country, region, or cultural community and to explore how it can be applied in music education. This may include a traditional song, dance, instrument, custom, way of making music, or another form of musical expression. In addition to presenting a particular musical tradition, concrete teaching activities that would bring the presented culture closer to students are especially welcome. Participants may design a lesson, workshop, listening, singing, instrumental, movement, or creative activity.
The aim of the Forum is to learn from one another – for a student from one country to present their musical tradition to students from other countries, and then to reflect together on how different musical cultures can be incorporated into teaching and made more engaging, diverse, and open to differences. We are not only asking you to present the music of your country – we want to see what we can do with that music in the classroom. By understanding different musical traditions together, we aim to create a space where students can learn, exchange ideas and reflect collectively on the future of music education.
We look forward to your applications, new connections, music from different parts of the world, and spending time together at the 13th International Forum of Music Pedagogy Students!
